Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Rock band Aerosmith has issued an apology letter for cancelling their May 11 concert in Jakarta due to safety reasons.

The letter from the band’s management reads, “Aerosmith have been forced to cancel their Saturday, May 11 concert at Jiexpo Kemayoran Jakarta, Indonesia due to safety concerns.”

The band, who is on a world tour, said, “Unfortunately, we have to cancel our upcoming show in Jakarta. We want to apologize to all our fans who were expecting to see us and hope that one day we can make it up to them. We would also like to thank everyone at Dyandra Entertainment, Ismaya Live and Sound Rhythm for the time and effort they put into the pre-production of this show.”

Concert promoter Ismaya Live has expressed sadness as they announced the cancellation via Facebook, posting Aerosmith’s letter. “We sincerely apologize for inconvenience caused by the unexpected news. Esp to fans, medias, sponsors & everyone who supported,” the promoter’s announcement continued.

Last year, pop singer Lady Gaga cancelled her concert in Jakarta due to safety reasons stemming from protests by religious groups.

Meanwhile, Aerosmith has landed in Manila, Philippines on Sunday for their performance on Wednesday.
