Orlando, FL, United States (4E Sports) – Bill Haas fired a bogey-free six-under-par 66 in the second round Friday to grab a share of the lead in the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
Haas birdied the second, 8th, 11th and 12th holes before recording an eagle on the 16th to join Justin Rose on top of the leaderboard with a two-round total of 135.
Rose, who fired a seven-under par 65 in the opening round, bogeyed the 14th and 18th to finish with a two-under-par 70.
John Huh followed his first-round 67 with a three-under-par 69, including birdies in the 16th and 18th holes, to settle for third while JJ Henry carded a 67 to join Ken Duke and Jimmy Walker in a tie for fourth place.
Tiger Woods vaulted to 2nd place early with three birdies and an eagle on the 6th but he bogeyed the last three holes to finish with a 70, dropping to a tie for seventh place with Mark Wilson and Vijay Singh, four strokes behind Haas and Rose.
Tied for 10th, five shots behind the leaders, were Luke Guthrie, Brad Fritsch, Bob Estes, John Rollins and Rickie Fowler.
Meanwhile, several big names missed the cut, including FedEx Cup leader Brandt Snederker, Webb Simpson and Phil Mickelson.
Mickelson recorded his highest career round at Bay Hill with a 79 and missed the cut at eight-over while Simpson and Snedeker finished at 9 and 8 over, respectively.
Snedeker shot his second straight 76 in his first start in more than a month after being sidelined with a rib injury.
