Greensboro, NC, United States (4E Sports) – Shane Larkin poured 15 of his 20 points in the second half as No. 9 Miami (FL) closed the game with a 14-3 blast en route to a 69-58 win over Boston College Friday in the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament at Greensboro Coliseum.

The game was tied at 55 when Durand Scott started the run with two foul shots while Larkin added a three-pointer with 1:50 remaining.

Rion Brown added a jumper and Kenny Kadji split his charities before Olivier Hanlan broke the scoring drought with a triple to cut the Hurricanes’ lead to 63-58.

However, Larkin buried a jumper, Kadji made two foul shots and Trey McKinney scored on a dunk to cap the victory.

With the victory, the Hurricanes set a new school record for single-season victories, posting their 25th win.

Miami improved to 8-8 all-time in the ACC Tournament and advanced to the semifinals for only the second time since joining the ACC in 2004.

The top-seeded Hurricanes will take on fifth seed North Carolina State in Saturday’s semifinal. The Wolfpack earlier beat the Virginia Cavaliers, 75-56, to advance.

“The last five minutes we went to the small lineup and we switched most of them so there is no open man and we trapped with our big guy to be the aggressor at the end of the floor,” Hurricanes head coach Jim Larranaga said.

Larkin shot 8-for-15 from the field and added three rebounds and four assists while Kadji had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Trey McKinney Jones added 12 points for the Hurricanes.

Larkin also helped limit Eagles freshman Hanlan to just 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting one day after scoring an ACC Tournament record 41 points.

Sophomore Patrick Heckmann led Boston College with 15 points and Ryan Anderson added 14 points and six rebounds.
