Ohio State blasts Nebraska to secure Big 10 semis seat

Chicago, IL, United States (4E Sports) – Deshaun Thomas and Sam Thompson scored 19 points as the Ohio State Buckeyes advanced to the Big 10 tournament semifinals with a 71-50 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers Friday at the United Center.

The Buckeyes made it to the final four of the Big 10 tourney behind a solid effort from their frontline players.

After taking a five-point lead, 28-23, at the break, the Buckeyes broke loose in the second half as they exploded for 43 points and contained the Huskers to just 27 points in the final 20 minutes of play.

Aaron Craft also ran the Buckeyes offense well as he recorded 7 points and 8 dimes while LaQuinton Ross tallied 11 points.

Ohio State shot 59.1 percent (26-for-44) from the field and 52.9 percent (9-for-17) from beyond the three-point line.

Brandon Ubel had 16 points and 7 rebounds and Shavon Shields added 14 markers for Nebraska.

The Buckeyes will face the winner of quarterfinal clash between the Michigan State and Iowa.
