Jurassic Park IV gets new director in Colin Trevorrow

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – The much awaited film “Jurassic Park IV” has just officially named its director, Colin Trevorrow (“Safety Not Guaranteed”), while former director Steven Spielberg takes his seat as executive producer.

Producer Frank Marshall announced via Twitter Thursday, “Thrilled to have director on JP4, Colin Trevorrow, an exciting young filmmaker who understands and respects the world that is Jurassic Park.”

The blockbuster dinosaur film series started in 1993 and has since raked in over $1.9 billion in sales.

Executive produced by Spielberg and produced Marshall and Patrick Cowley, the script of “Jurassic Park IV” is written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.

The film, which will start filming in Baton Rouge this April, is set to hit theaters in June 2014.
