London, England, United Kingdom (4E Sports) – Arsenal will play without midfielder Jack Wilshere for three weeks after he suffered an ankle injury, manager Arsene Wenger confirmed.

“Jack Wilshere is out,” Wenger said. “He has an inflamed ankle, the other ankle to one he injured.”

“He will be out for three weeks and will not be available for Munich, Swansea and not for England,” added Wenger.

Arsenal will face Bayern Munich in a Champions League match Wednesday, followed by a Premier League clash with Swansea and England’s World Cup qualifying double-header against San Marino and Montenegro.

The 21-year-old Wilshere missed the whole of last season with ankle and knee problems.

He has been impressive since returning to first team action in October for Arsenal, recording three assists in 18 Premier League games.

In all competition, Wilshere scored two goals and had four assists.
