Several teams eyeing ex-Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall
Landover, MD, United States (4E Sports) – The Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have shown interest in free-agent cornerback DeAngelo Hall, says Dan Hellie of NBC 4.
He added that the Washington Redskins have reached out to the 29-year old Hall about coming back.
The Redskins recently released Hall to save $8 million in salary cap space.
Hall was willing to restructure his contract, but there was an $18 million salary cap penalty in 2013 that the Redskins have to deal with.
The penalty is the second half of a $36 million punishment split over two seasons as a result of how Washington structured its contracts during the uncapped 2010 season.
“I understand the business side of things,” said Hall.
” Mike (coach Shanahan) said he really felt bad because I had done everything they asked. Kept getting better, kept working hard, kept leading,” said Hall.
Hall was acquired by the Redskins in 2008 after being released by the Raiders. According to Pro Football Focus, he was one of only two defensive backs to allow more than 1,000 receiving yards last season in the NFL.
