Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Reality star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, in an interview Tuesday, has revealed how she lost weight after giving birth to her first child, Lorenzo.
Talking to Matt Lauer in the “Today Show,” Snooki, who has lost a whopping 42 lbs. since giving birth in August, said she was feeling great. “A little bit tired from the baby, but overall I feel awesome.”
She then described her baby Lorenzo as “funny” and just likes to “have a good time” like her.
The host then expressed how he thinks Snooki will get “as much attention about this weight loss as anything you’ve done in the last several years,” to which she replied, “I hope so!”
“The first 20 [pounds] came [off] from just breastfeeding, so that was awesome,” the Jersey Shore star explained. “But then I had to wait until I could work out, which was six weeks, and then I just went straight to the gym. I work with a trainer, one of my good friends Anthony, so he basically just kicked my butt into shape and he gave me these express meals which [don't] have a lot of calories.”
As someone who used to like to eat “junk” food and drink, Snooki cut down her intake to 1300 calories a day and shied away from alcohol.
“It’s hard to drink while taking care of a baby, so I don’t drink at all, really, and when I do drink, I get drunk off of like three sips, so it’s actually good,” the 25-year-old mom said.
She added, “I knew I couldn’t party anymore, because now I’m a parent; I have to take care of someone else, so the partying’s done, basically…But it was more about getting in shape and being a fit mom.”
Asked if she misses “that life”—that party life which she got famous for, Snooki replied, “Not really, no, I mean I’ve been partying…forever, since, like, college. I’m so over that and I’m so into my family right now.”
Towards the end of the interview, Lauer asked Snooki about her previous statements saying she wants to have some “work done” to her body aster she’s “done having children.”
“Yes,” Snooki replied. “I think I’m very healthy, I mean, eat good, I work out, and I got these big muscles. So I think that I’m doing good, I’m doing it the healthy way, but eventually, I do want my boobs back because when you have babies, they just flap everywhere, so I need to fix those,” the pint-sized star candidly admitted.
