Oklahoma City, OK, United States (4E Sports) – Rookie guard Reggie Jackson scored all of his six points in an 11-2 run in the fourth period to help the Oklahoma City Thunder pull away en route to a 91-79 triumph over the Boston Celtics Sunday at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Thunder were leading by 70-65 when Nick Collison started the breakaway with a 20-foot jumper with assist from Jackson.
Then, Jackson scored the Thunder’s next six points on two foul shots, a layup and a 17-foot jumper before Kevin Martin capped the run with a three-point play to grab a 79-67 lead that they never relinquished.
During that stretch, the Celtics missed seven shots and could only come up with two foul shots from Paul Pierce.
Kevin Durant finished 23 points and 11 rebounds while Russell Westbrook scored 15 points as the Thunder extended their winning streak to five games.
Martin tallied 10 points while Collison and Thabo Sefolosha had eight apiece for the Thunder, who boosted their record to 47-16.
Paul Pierce recorded 20 points, Avery Bradley scored 12 while Kevin Garnett had 10 points and 11 boards as the Celtics had their five-game winning run snapped.
Jason Terry had nine markers while Jeff Green scored eight points in his first appearance in Oklahoma since being traded in February 2011 for Kendrick Perkins.
Green did not play against the Thunder last season after he underwent a heart procedure that kept him out of commission for one year.
The Thunder made 30 of 68 shots for 44.1 percent while the Celtics shot just 37.7 percent on 29-for-77 shooting.
