Toronto, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – Amir Johnson racked up 17 points and 16 rebounds and Alan Anderson added 18 points as the Toronto Raptors bested the Cleveland Cavaliers 100-96 Sunday at Air Canada Center.
The Raptors picked up only their second win in six games this month as Johnson produced another double-double game to fill the void left by injured swingman Rudy Gay.
Toronto overcame a nine-point first half deficit after exploding for 33 points in the third quarter. The Raps also tightened their defense in the period, limiting the Cavs to just 19 points.
Behind Anderson and Johnson, the Raptors preserved their lead up to the final seconds despite several rallies from the Cavs.
The Cavs were just two points behind, 94-92, with 3:17 remaining but Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan did well from the foul line to secure the win.
Dion Waiters scored a game-high 21 points while Kyrie Irving just recorded 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting with four rebounds and four assists.
Toronto improved to 25-39 while the Cavs fell to 21-42 with just a month left in the regular-season.
