Cleveland, OH, United States (4E Sports) – Marc Gasol racked up 22 points and 8 rebounds while Mike Conley and Jayreed Bayless added 17 points each as the Memphis Grizzlies subdued the Cleveland Cavaliers 103-92 Friday at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Grizzlies (41-19) recorded their third straight game and 11th of their last 12 games behind another solid effort from their starting center.

Gasol, who is averaging 14.2 points and 7.9 rebounds this season, led the Grizzlies’ offensive attack, going 11 for 16 from the field.

It was a back and forth game in the first half with the Cavs taking a 51-48 lead at the break. However, the Grizz opened the second half with a bang as they used a 16-3 run to take their first double-digit lead at 64-54.

From there, it seemed the Grizzlies were on their way to a routine victory, but the Cavs hung tough.

Led by Kyrie Irving’s late game explosion, the Cavs trimmed the deficit to four points, 88-84, with five minutes left. Unfortunately for the Cavs, the Grizz had too much firepower to weather the storm.

Bayless and Conley combined for 12 points in the waning minutes to get the win for the Grizz.

Irving finished with 24 points on 11 for 21 shooting while Tristan Thompson racked up 10 points and 10 boards for the Cavs, who fell to 21-41.
