Phoenix, AZ, United States (4E Sports) – DeMar DeRozan tallied 15 points and five teammates submitted double-digit scores as the Toronto Raptors ended a five-game losing skid with an easy 98-71 triumph over the Phoenix Suns Wednesday at US Airways Center.
Amir Johnson had 14, Sebastian Telfair added 13 against his former team while Jonas Valanciunas, Terrence Ross and Mickael Pietrus scored 10 apiece as the Raptors (24-38) ended the Suns’ three-game winning run.
“Anytime your spot is taken or given away you want to come out there and show you are a player. I do this for my family and my kids. I got to do this,” said Telfair, who played just seven minutes before this game.
Telfair shot 5-for-12 and added seven assists, DeRozan went 7-for-13 from the floor, Johnson 5-for-8 while the Raptors bench was 19-for-39 from the floor and outscored Phoenix’s reserves 54-32.

The Raptors also turned the Suns’ season-worst 29 turnovers into 39 points.
Markieff Morris was the only scorer in double-digit with 12 points for the Suns (21-40), who lost center Marcin Gortat in the first quarter.
Gortat stepped on Johnson’s foot after grabbing a rebound with 3:46 left in the first quarter.
The Raptors then capitalized on Gortat’s absence, outscoring the Suns, 26-16, in the second quarter to turn a four-point lead after the first into a 54-40 advantage. Overall, the Raptors outscored Phoenix 73-49 after Gortat went down.
