Baltimore, MD, United States (4E Sports) – The Baltimore Ravens have made quarterback Joe Flacco the highest-paid player in league history as reward for leading them to the Super Bowl title.

ESPN.com reported that Flacco is expected to sign a six-year deal worth $120.6 million, which will eclipse the five-year, $100 million contract signed by New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

The two sides are expected to iron out the final details of the contract Sunday night or Monday morning. Flacco will be in Baltimore on Monday to sign the deal.

It was reported that Flacco was watching television when the Ravens agreed to his agent Joe Linta’s contract offer.

Last season, Flacco threw for more than 3,800 yards and 22 touchdowns, but he saved his best performances for the playoffs where he was almost flawless.

In four playoff games, Flacco connected on 11 touchdowns without throwing a single interception.

Against the 49ers in the Super Bowl, Flacco completed 22 of 33 passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns to earn MVP honors.
