Winnipeg, BC, Canada (4E Sports) – Braden Holtby stopped 35 shots while Matt Hendricks, Troy Brouwer, and Mike Ribeiro each scored a goal as the Washington Capitals cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Winnipeg Jets Saturday at MTS Center.

The Capitals captured their third win in four games behind another stellar net-minding performance by Holtby, who booked his second shutout in three games and third of the season.

Holtby’s dominance between the pipes allowed the Capitals skaters to play aggressively on the offensive end, especially in the final period when Brouwer and Ribeiro netted the second and third goal of the night.

Meanwhile, the Jets controlled the statistical battle by recording more hits (32-13) and takeways (7-2) over the Caps. However, the Jets just couldn’t crack the Caps’ defense and Holtby’s superb goaltending.

The Capitals improved to 8-11-1, 17 points while the Jets dropped to 10-10-1, 21 points.
