New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – The New York Giants retained the service of veteran offensive tackle Will Beatty after signing him to a five-year, $38.75 million deal with $19 million guaranteed, the team announced Wednesday.

Beatty, touted as one of the finest offensive lineman in the NFL, will be spending the prime of his career with the Giants after he was picked 60th overall by the same team in the 2009 NFL Draft.

“We are very pleased to get a new deal done with Will,” general manager Jerry Reese said. “We believe he is one of the ascending left tackles in the NFL.”

Beatty, who will be turning 28 this March 2, will provide the Giants quarterback Eli Manning a solid scrimmage line protector.

With their no.1 priority this offseason already signed, the Giants can now focus on re-signing left guard Kevin Boothe to further strengthen the left side of the offensive line. New York is also hoping to keep tight end Martellus Bennett.
