Body parts found in on New York street identified, two suspects questioned

New York, NY, United States (4E) – Police have identified the body parts that were found dumped on a street in Bronx, New York early Tuesday as a 45-year-old woman and two suspects are being questioned.

According to the New York Daily News, the victim was Tanya Byrd and police sources said her 23-year-old son, Bashid McLean, admitted killing her.

Other reports stated police sources as saying that McLean and one of his friends were detained and being interviewed.

Investigators reportedly recovered a saw inside the apartment where McLean lived with his mother and his 7-year-old brother, Nasyr.

Reports stated that police also discovered a shopping cart used to scatter Byrd’s severed body parts from their home to four different locations.

News 12 Bronx reported that police sources also revealed that there was a strong bleach smell inside their apartment, and latex gloves and an empty power saw box were also found.

Police said Byrd’s body parts were found stuffed in garbage bags and scattered throughout her neighborhood along Eagle Avenue and 158th Street in the Melrose section around 5 a.m.
