Ian Clark scores 18 points as Belmont downs Ohio

Nashville, TN, United States (4E Sports) – Senior guard Ian Clark fired 18 points while Trevor Noack and JJ Mann added 17 markers apiece to power Belmont past Ohio, 81-62, in the Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters series Saturday at Curb Events Center.
Clark shot 6-for-14 from the field and grabbed six boards while Mann and Noack had seven and six rebounds, respectively, as the Bruins stormed to their 11th straight home win.
Kerron Johnson added 16 points, four rebounds and five dimes for the Bruins, who improved to 22-6 (12-2 OVC) after winning their second consecutive victory.
The Bruins made 27 of 52 attempts for a 51.9 percent clip from the field and hit eight of 22 triples for 36.4 percent.
Belmont also out-rebounded Ohio, 34-26, issued more assists, 16-11, and committed less turnovers, 12 to 14.
Reggie Keely scored 12 points and grabbed eight boards while TJ Hall added 10 for the Bobcats, who dropped to 20-7 (11-1 MAC) after seeing the end of their five-game winning streak.
The Bobcats missed the scoring by DJ Cooper, who scored just six points on 1-for-7 shooting from three-point range. He entered the contest averaging 13.7 points per contest.
The Bobcats took a 5-2 advantage behind a triple by Hall and a layup by Nick Kellogg but the Bruins took control of the game with a 19-5 attack, sparked by five points apiece from Mann and Noack, to take a 21-10 advantage.
Later in the half, Noack scored six straight points and Clark added two foul shots to put the Bruins ahead by 32-17.
The Bobcats trimmed the gap to 34-24 but the Bruins retaliated with a 7-0 run to take a 41-24 lead at the break.
