Three injured in New York small plane crash

Lake Placid, NY, United States (4E) – A small plane crashed into Nye Mountain in New York’s High Peaks Wilderness Thursday night and rescuers manage to locate three passengers who suffered minor injuries nine hours later.

The Essex County Emergency Services Coordinator Don Jaquish said the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. and the trio from Westfield, New Jersey used a cell phone to call 911.

WCAX News reported the men were located on top of Big Burn Mountain around 3:30 a.m., near eight miles away from the nearest road.

Reports stated the plane was heading to the Lake Placid Airport when it crashed.

the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
