Pauline M. Mills, 89, of West Decatur died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. Born Jan. 20, 1924 in West Decatur, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Alma (Shimmel) Dixon. On March 13, 1946, she married Ardell B. Hamer Sr, who died Aug. 26, 1987. On Oct. 6, 1991, she married William D. Mills, who died March 17, 2004.
She is survived by a son, Ardell B. Hamer Jr. and his wife, Faith of Winterville, NC; three daughters, Linda Frank and her husband, James Michael of York, Brenda Berkstresser of Fayetteville, NC and Lisa Kline and her husband, Barry of Clearfield; a step-daughter, Gloria J. Fox and her husband, John of Clearfield; two sisters, Mona Baney and her husband, Durrel of West Decatur and Marian Moist of Orchard Park, NY; and a brother, Charles “Jake” Dixon and his wife, Nancy of Dover.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Sheri Hibsman and her husband, Todd, Jamie Isaac and her husband, Richard, Jennifer Condon and her husband, Jeremy, Robert Berkstresser and his wife, Macail, Lacie Vail and her husband, Scott, Brooks Hamer, Barrett Kline and Karson Kline; three step-grandchildren, Justine McClarren ,Shawn Fox and Danielle Howell and her husband, Josh; and eight great-grandchildren, Dalton Bowers, TJ Hibsman, Hunter Isaac, Mason Isaac, Ryland Isaac, Landon Isaac, Violet Rinker and Greyson Vail.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands; a daughter, Wanda Jean Hamer; a great-grandson, Dylan Bowers; three brothers, Brooks Dixon, Lionel Dixon and Norman Dixon; and one sister, Imilda Jane Shields.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, West Decatur. She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Centre Hill Grange. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, with the Rev. Timothy D. Richmond officiating. Burial will be in Reidy Cemetery, Wallaceton.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
