Brooks Selected as LT Police Chief

CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Board of Supervisors announced the selection of a Lawrence Township police chief at its meeting Tuesday night.

Interim Police Chief Mark Brooks will fill the police chief position vacated by former Police Chief Jeff Fink. His pay will remain the same as it has been as the interim police chief. Brooks has been serving as interim police chief since Fink’s retirement at the end of July.

Before the announcement, Supervisor Glenn Johnston said their selection was someone familiar with the police force and an exemplary officer.  Brooks has been a member of the police force for 22 years.

Johnston said there were many good applicants, and he was thankful for them.

The supervisors said they will continue to evaluate the department as it moves forward under Brooks before considering hiring someone to either fill Brooks’ former position or promoting one of the two recently hired part-time officers.
