U.S. announces additional humanitarian aid to war-torn Syria

Washington, DC, United States (4E) – In response to ongoing crisis in Syria, the Obama administration on Tuesday announced an additional humanitarian aid worth $19 million for the Middle Eastern nation.

Talking to reporters after Syria Humanitarian Forum held in Geneva, U.S. Agency for International Development Assistant Administrator Nancy Lindborg said that the additional aid would provide medical supplies, emergency medical care and food vouchers for over 50,000 additional Syrian refugees in Jordan.

He added that the International Committee of the Red Cross would continue to provide assistance in Syria.
