New York rabbi arrested for setting sex date with ’14-year-old girl’ online

New York, NY, United States (4E) – A 59-year-old rabbi from Brooklyn, New York was arrested Wednesday for allegedly attempting to lure an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old girl online to meet for sex.
The Brooklyn district attorney’s office said Nathan David Rabinowich was detained after showing up for the scheduled meeting in Queens.
Rabinowich faces charges of attempted rape, attempted criminal sexual act and attempted endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities revealed the rabbi, who also operates a tour business, faces up to four years in prison if convicted.
His lawyer, Israel Fried, said the rabbi is innocent until proven guilty.
Rabinowich was released Thursday night after a $25,000 bail.
