Chicago, IL, United States (4E) – The family of a 19-year-old university freshman who died during an alleged hazing incident in November has filed a lawsuit in Cook County, Illinois Thursday against the campus fraternity involved.
The family’s attorney, Peter Coladarci, said David Bogenberger’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Northern Illinois University’s Pi Kappa Alpha house, and the suit also named 22 fraternity house members involved in the event.
According to the lawsuit, Bogenberger died during a fraternity initiation party after being forced to consume a dangerous amount of alcohol on November 2, 2012.
It was reported that autopsy result determined the teen died of an irregular heartbeat, but stated alcohol intoxication significantly contributed to his death.
