Philadelphia, PA, United States (4E Sports) – The Philadelphia Eagles inked quarterback Dennis Dixon to a two-year deal Thursday, reuniting him with head coach Chip Kelly.
The 28-year-old Dixon played his college years with the Oregon Ducks, where Kelly was serving as the program’s offensive coordinator.
Dixon threw 2,136 yards with 20 touchdowns and four interceptions and rushed for 583 yards before suffering a torn ACL in the 10th game of the 2007 season.
Dixon spent first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he won his first Super Bowl title as backup for Ben Roethlisberger.
He then became a backup quarterback for Joe Flacco last season and eventually earned his second Super Bowl title when the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.
Dixon has become the fourth quarterback for the Eagles, joining Trent Edwards, Nick Foles and Michael Vick.
