Utah man found on fire near dumpster dead two days after incident
Provo, UT, United States (4E) – A 22-year-old man who was found burning alive near a dumpster in Provo, Utah two days ago died early Wednesday morning.
According to officials, Sean Ryan Romero was discovered severely burned by responding police and fire fighters Monday after receiving a report about a fire in a dumpster along West Columbia Lane.
KUTV reported that somebody managed to extinguish the fire and Romero was rushed, with burns to 80 percent of his body, to the Intermountain Burn Trauma Unit at the University of Utah Medical Center where he succumbed to his wounds.
Police said investigation into the cause and circumstances of the fire is ongoing.
It was reported that Romero was arrested January 15 on suspicion of heroin possession, marijuana possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia and was released five days later.
