Brooklyn, NY, United States (4E Sports) – Five Kentucky recruits, led by point guard Andrew Harrison, were selected to play in this year’s Jordan Brand Classic high school basketball all-star showcase.
Harrison’s twin brother Aaron, small forward James Young, center Dakari Johnson and power forward Marcus Lee will also play in the 12th edition of the event to be held April 13 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The twins could end up facing each other as Andrew Harrison, Johnson, Lee and Young will all play for the West team while Aaron Harrison will be on the East squad
“This year’s roster could be one of the most talented in the 12 years of the Jordan Brand Classic,” said Larry Miller, president of Jordan Brand.
Point guard Kasey Hill and power forward Chris Walker will represent the Florida Gators while the Kansas Jayhawks have shooting guard Wayne Selden and center Joel Embiid in that game.
The Duke Blue Devils also have two representatives in small forward Jabari Parker and shooting guard Matt Jones while the Indiana Hoosiers have power forward Noah Vonleh and small forward Troy Williams.
Also playing in the event is No. 1 prospect Andrew Wiggins, who is undecided on a college, creating a much-anticipated showdown with Parker.
The complete East team comprises Aaron Harrison, Hill, Selden, Walker, Wiggins, Tyler Ennis (Syracuse Orange), Kuran Iverson (Memphis Tigers), Rondae Jefferson (Arizona Wildcats), Kennedy Meeks (North Carolina Tar Heels), Bobby Portis (Arkansas Razorbacks) and Julius Randle (undecided).
The West squad includes Andrew Harrison, Embiid, Johnson, Jones, Lee, Parker, Vonleh, Williams, Young, Aaron Gordon (undecided) and Nigel Williams-Goss (Washington Huskies).
