Norman, OK, United States (4E Sports) – Romero Osby recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and Steven Pledger added 15 markers as the Oklahoma Sooners stunned the Kansas Jayhawks, 72-66, Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center.

Coming off back-to-back losses against Kansas State and Iowa State, the Sooners stunned their Big 12 rival as they used a solid start and held off a resilient Jayhawks squad late.

Leading by just one, 60-59, with just 3:49 left in regulation, the Sooners leaned on Steven Pledger and Je’lon Hornbeak, who scored all of his seven points in the closing minutes to seal the win.

Ben McLemore scored a team-high 15 points while Jeff Withey had 14 points and six boards for the Jayhawks, who dropped their third straight game and fell to 19-4 (7-3 Big 12) this season. Kansas will play Kansas State on Feb. 11 and Texas on Feb. 16.

The Sooners boosted their record to 15-7 (6-4 Big 12) and will take on TCU on Feb, 11 and Oklahoma State on Feb. 16 next.
