Valletta, Malta (4E Sports) – The Maltese government has allocated 7.5 million euros or roughly $10,021,500 for the development of new rugby stadium facilities at Ghajn Dwieli.

The government recently transferred the land and the budget for the construction of the new stadium to the Malta Rugby Football Union.

The government has also granted the union non-exclusive use of three pitches in Marsa along with ancillary facilities including showers, changing rooms and administration rooms.

Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Parliamentary Secretary for Sports Clyde Puli were present during the signing of the deeds between the union and the Malta Council for Sports.

Puli said the project was the latest of 60 projects carried out in 60 months as part of the government’s commitment to improve the people’s quality of life.
