RUSH TOWNSHIP – The Philipsburg-based state police are continuing their investigation of a single-vehicle accident that occurred at 12:10 a.m. Saturday on the Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township.

According to the report, Joseph A. Monoskey, 41, of Osceola Mills was traveling westbound when his pick-up truck veered over the double-yellow line into the eastbound lane. Monoskey attempted to take corrective action by steering hard to the right and slamming on his brakes. However, his pick-up slid for approximately 141 feet before impacting a tree off the north berm.

Monoskey was not injured as a result of the accident, and he fled the scene. State police are continuing their investigation to determine if anyone helped Monoskey flee the scene.
