Fire Marshal Investigating Garage Fire

WOODWARD TOWNSHIP – A garage fire is being investigated after it ignited at 10:35 a.m. Sunday at 957 Brisbin St. in Woodward Township, according to the Ridgway-based state police.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire destroyed a wooden-framed garage, which contained a Jeep, a John Deere tractor, two Harley Davidson motorcycles and a host of tools.

The garage was owned by Mark Berkey of Houtzdale. Damage is estimated at more than $150,000. There weren’t any injuries as a result of the fire, state police said.
