Carson, CA, United States (4E) – A preschool in Carson, California is closing after reports of sexual activities between its young students within the school grounds were revealed by affected parents.
According to Greg Owen, an attorney who represents several of the children, he plans to file a lawsuit Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court against the First Lutheran Church of Carson School, church, the principal, and a teacher.
Owen claimed students, aged between four and five-years-old, engaged in oral sex on the playground, in the bathroom, and during nap time when aides were not looking.
Richard McCarthy, a parent of a four-year-old boy, told ABC News that a 5-year-old girl “often” performed oral sex on his son at the school.
McCarthy said his son informed him about all the bad things that girl had been doing to him that happened in the classroom, in the bathroom and out on the playground.
An unnamed mother also told ABC News that her daughter said the sex acts weren’t a one-time incident because it was like an everyday thing, from pulling the pants down to exposing themselves to trying to get somebody to put their mouth on the privates.
It was reported that the California Department of Social Services has cited the school for one sexual encounter between the kids and overall lack of supervision.
NBC Los Angeles published a statement by school administrators saying that the decision to close the school is due to staffing issues and not because of the allegations of sexual relationships among students.
The statement said that the director has resigned for personal reasons and the school was not able to find a full time director in time.
