Louisville, KY, United States (4E Sports) – Peyton Siva scored 14 points and dished seven dimes and Russ Smith added 18 markers as the Louisville Cardinals rolled on to a 70-51 win over the Marquette Golden Eagles Sunday at KFC Yum! Center.
The 12th-ranked Cardinals (18-4, 6-3 Big East) recorded their first back-to-back wins since losing their grip on top of the poll with three consecutive setbacks in January.
The Cardinals dominated play through the first 20 minutes, allowing building a 38-24 cushion at the break. Despite a better second half effort from Marquette, Louisville still posted the overpowering win.
Louisville shot 51.9 percent from the field and hauled 34 rebounds. Marquette, meanwhile, was held to 35.8 percent shooting while just collecting 22 rebounds.
Trent Lockett (16 points) and Vander Blue (17 points) led the way for the Golden Eagles, who dropped to 15-5 (6-2 in the Big East).
