Montreal, QC, Canada (4E Sports) – Rene Bourque scored two goals and Carey Price recorded 30 saves as the Montreal Canadiens cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres Saturday at Bell Centre.

The Habs (5-2-0, 10pts) continued to stay hot at home, recording their fourth straight victory on their own rink.

Bourque gave the Habs their first taste of the lead after scoring on a powerplay goal at 19:52 mark of the opening period, setting up an explosive second period for the home team.

Brendan Gallagher, David Desharnais, and Lars Eller all scored a goal to give the Habs a commanding 4-0 lead going into the third period.

Bourque slotted in his second goal of the night at 1:22 mark of the third while David Desharnais put the icing on the cake at 12:43 mark of the final period.

Thomas Vanek’s shorthanded goal was the lone bright spot in the night for the Sabres, who fell to 3-4-1 with seven points.

The Habs, who fired 32 shots and won 37 faceoff duels, look to avenge their earlier loss to the Ottawa Senators when they host their rival at Bell Center Sunday.
