Washington, United States (4E) – The Wall Street Journal on Thursday claimed that Chinese hackers hit its computers to spy on its journalists covering China just a day after The New York Times made a similar complaint.
The New York Times believed that Chinese hacking attempt came in the wake of its exposure of China’s top leader’s family’s huge wealth.
In an article, the Journal said that the attacks were hackers’ apparent attempt to monitor the daily’s China coverage.
“Evidence shows that infiltration efforts target the monitoring of the Journal’s coverage of China, and are not an attempt to gain commercial advantage or to misappropriate customer information,” said a statement from Paula Keve of Journal parent Dow Jones, a unit of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp.
