Paris, France (4E Sports) – Soccer superstar David Beckham inked a five-month deal with French ball club Paris St-Germain Thursday with his compensation going to charity.

Beckham, who won back-to-back MLS title with the Los Angeles Galaxy before leaving Hollywood, will be playing with one of the emerging football powerhouse in Europe.

“I won’t receive any salary,” he said. “We have decided my salary will go towards a local children’s charity in Paris and that is one of the things we are very excited and proud to do.”

With Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic already in fold, PSG will further boost its attacking unit with the inclusion of Beckham. Still, PSG will further benefit from Beckham by making a brand around the football superstar.

Beckham’s wife, Victoria will stay in the United Kingdom during the five-month stint so their children can continue with their studies.

“I’ve got all the shirts for the kids, you can see little Harper’s one here. Blown away by the reception of the people in Paris,” he wrote. “Glad to see so many positive comments about the donation. Victoria and I made the decision to give the wages away to a children’s charity. We are incredibly fortunate so we are glad we could do this with the club’s blessing. Thanks as always for your support, I will always do my best for you.”
