New York city bus crashes, injuring six after driver fainted
Manhattan, NY, United States (4E) – A city bus smashed into several vehicles in Manhattan, New York after the bus driver lost consciousness while behind the wheel Monday night, causing injury to six people.
According to reports, the 61-year-old driver, Kevin Prendergast, blacked out while the bus was traveling along Madison Avenue and 85th Street around 7:05 p.m. and two passengers, 43-year-old Arkady Krutkovich and 35-year-old Guy Praisler, managed to stop the out-of-control MTA bus by taking the wheel.
Officials said six people with non-life threatening injuries were rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital.
Four were bus passengers while the other two, a car driver and a person in a taxi cab, were hurt after their vehicles were hit by the bus.
There were 23 passengers on the bus.
