Washington, United States (4E) – The U.S. Senate on Monday approved a $50.5-billion Superstorm Sandy relief bill by 62-36 vote to revive the residents and businesses, which were hit by devastating Sandy last year.
The bill is now in White House for President Barack Obama’s approval.
With this vote, Congress has approved up to $60.2 billion for Sandy aid. This includes the relief aid of $9.7 billion, which has been approved by the House and the Senate earlier this month.
The aid was to pay storm-related flood insurance claims.
