California woman who drowned autistic son sentenced to 15 years to life in prison

San Diego, CA, United States (4E) – A 37-year-old woman from San Diego, California who drowned her autistic son in a bathtub last March has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison Monday.

Authorities said after killing her four-year-old son, Daniel, Patricia Corby brought her son’s body to a police substation where she confessed to the crime.

Corby pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder in the March 31 death her son, Daniel.

According to investigators, Corby caught the attention of an officer upon arriving at the police station, and informed him that she just killed her son. The officer then noticed the boy’s body in a blanket in Corby’s car’s backseat.

Reports stated paramedics attempted to revive the child but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police arrested Corby that same day.
