Police Report: Clearfield Borough

  • A horse ran down Turnpike Avenue and then continued down Nichols Street.  Police were able to contain the horse with the aid of passing motorists. Its owner was located and came to get it. 
  • Police have three bicycles that were placed in a resident’s driveway on West Side.  Anyone missing a bike may stop at the police station to look at the ones turned in.
  • A female was arrested for public intoxication after she was allegedly discovered lying on the sidewalk.  She was uncooperative with police and taken to the Clearfield County Jail.
  • Police responded to East Pine Street for a barking dog complaint early in the morning Sunday.  Police made contact with the owners who were not in town.
  • Police assisted Lawrence Township police with an incident along South Second Street.
  • A female was arrested for suspicion of DUI after she was stopped along Bigler Avenue for a traffic violation.
  • A motor vehicle accident occurred on East Market Street near Healey Avenue.  No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
  • Police assisted emergency personnel with a male who was being combative.
  • A female allegedly received an unwanted text message.  The message was believed to be drug-related.
  • Police responded to a local business for an alarm.
  • A domestic incident occurred along East Locust Street. Police found that the altercation was verbal between a mother and son.
  • Police responded to a disturbance along South Second Street. A male allegedly used force to gain entry into an apartment and started an altercation with the occupants.  Police handled the incident on scene.
  • Police handled an incident of harassment, where a female threatened to slap another female. 
  • A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of East Market and South Third streets.  The vehicles were driven from the scene.
  • Police are investigating an incident of theft that occurred at a residence along South Fourth Street.
  • Police unlocked a vehicle along Linden Street for an individual who locked the keys inside while it was running.
  • Police, along with Lawrence Township police, assisted probation with taking a male into custody. The male was wanted on escape charges.  He was found hiding in an attic at a residence along West Market Street.
  • Police reported a coat was removed from Dorey Street. The coat contained many items, including a wallet and keys. 
  • A single-vehicle accident occurred on Gulich Avenue.  No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
  • A vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of South Third Street and Ogden Avenue.  No injuries were reported; however, both vehicles were towed from the scene
  • Police responded to a report of a car stuck on the train tracks near Williams and Merrill streets.  With the assistance of the Lawrence Township police and a passing motorist, the vehicle was able to be removed.
  • Police received a report of a hit-and-run accident along North Second Street across from the Clearfield YMCA.
  • Police were dispatched for an out of control juvenile who had allegedly threatened to harm himself and fled the residence.  Police made contact with the individual.
  • Police responded for a male who was allegedly threatening to harm himself.  They made contact with the individual who requested to speak with Crisis.
  • A domestic was reported along East Pine Street.  Upon contacting the party involved, the domestic was unfounded.
  • Police responded to a West Side home for a 911 hang-up call, where yelling could be heard in the background.  Upon arrival it was learned that a child struck another child in the mouth with a toy gun.
  • A purse was stolen from a car, while it was parked in the downtown area.
  • Police responded to a vehicle lockout along Turnpike Avenue.
  • Police responded to several parking complaints, where the violators received parking tickets.
  • Police responded to a report of an out of control male along North Fifth Street. Upon arrival officers were able to calm the male and transported him to the hospital to speak with Crisis.
  • Police initiated a traffic stop along North Third Street and found that a passenger had an active arrest warrant through Domestic Relations.  He was transported to the Clearfield County Jail on the warrant.
  • Police responded to an East Locust Street apartment for a noise complaint.  The individual was advised to keep the noise down.
  • Police responded to East Ninth Street for a garbage truck that slid and came close to striking a vehicle.  The vehicle was moved so the truck could get clear.
