California Democrat proposes ban on assault weapons in Congress

California, United States (4E) – California Democrat Dianne Feinstein on Thursday disclosed her plans to propose a bill in the Senate to ban assault weapons.

New York and Colorado Republicans Carolyn McCarthy and Ed Perlmutter respectively are also planning to propose similar bill in the House of Representatives.

“We should be outraged at how easy it is for mass shooters to get hold of semi-automatic weapons or large-capacity magazines used in past shooting rampages,” said Feinstein. She added that her aim is to “dry up the supply of these weapons over time”. The bill will renew arm sales ban that expired eight years ago.
