Detroit, MI, United States (4E Sports) – Owen Groesser, a junior high student with Down syndrome, took a sporting world by storm after appearing on ESPN’s premier show, SportsCenter.

A video of Groesser knocking down a high arching three-pointer made the top-10 highlights for SportsCenter on Wednesday night after the 7th grader’s friends and teammates came up with a Twitter campaign called #GetOwenOnSportsCenter.

The video eventually became viral and Groesser suddenly became a sporting superstar.

According to WXYZ in Detroit, Groeser hasn’t played all season long for Van Hoosen Junior High School until his coach drew a play specially designed for Groesser.

Groesser knocked down a pair of treys for six points in two minutes of action, but it proved just enough for him to be a sports icon.
