Robber stabs accomplice accidentally in Illinois train heist

Chicago, IL, United States (4E) – A robber sustained a stab wound in the back while he and his partner were trying to steal from a 70-year-old man on a train in Chicago, Illinois early Wednesday morning.

According to officials, the pair approached the man inside the Blue Line O’Hare-bound car near the LaSalle Street station around 12:30 a.m. after tailing him from the Kedzie stop on the West Side.

The suspects started beating the man, kicking their victim in the face while on the ground and taking his wallet before one of the robbers attempted to stab the man and instead injured his 24-year-old partner.

Reports stated the culprit was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital while the second suspect managed to flee.

The elderly victim was admitted to the same hospital with face wounds and possibly suffered a fracture during the beating.
