Nevada cop fatally shoots wife, son and then himself in burning home
Las Vegas, NV, United States (4E) – A 52-year-old Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department employee killed his wife and child before setting fire to his home and committing suicide in Boulder City, Nevada Monday morning.
According to reports, the incident happened around 9 a.m. along Esther Drive and the man called 911 saying he killed his 46-year-old wife and son.
Responding officers said they asked the armed man, who faced them in the driveway of his residence to surrender his weapon, but he went inside and set the house on fire.
Police found three bodies inside the home after the fire was extinguished.
KVVU-TV reported that Las Vegas Metro Sheriff Doug Gillespie confirmed a 20-year veteran lieutenant of the force was involved in the incident.
The identities of those killed are being withheld pending notification of family members.
