Houston, TX, United States (4E) – At least three people, including a suspect, were injured after gunfire erupted Tuesday at the Lone Star Community College in North Harris County, Texas, prompting an immediate lockdown.

Police told KHOU that the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. along W.W. Thorne Drive, and one person was arrested while police continued searching a wooded area near the campus for another suspect.

Reports stated one male, who witnesses said was handcuffed to a stretcher, was taken out of the library and a woman received treatment on the scene. The victims were rushed to the hospital.

Campus officials said the community college remained in lockdown.

KHOU reported that several area schools also declared a lockdown.
