Texas man shoots to death wife, self at daughter’s 16th birthday party

Dallas, TX, United States (4E) – A 43-year-old man fatally shot his wife before killing himself Saturday night during their daughter’s 16th birthday party in a suburb in Dallas, Texas.

According to officials, Kelly Suckla shot his estranged wife, 44-year-old Kristi Suckla, around 10 p.m. outside the front door of the girl’s grandparents’ house in Grapevine, where she lives with her mother and brother.

Police said the couple argued before gunfire erupted.

Kelly Suckla committed suicide, with a shot to his head, and Kristi was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to her neck and body. She was pronounced dead almost an hour later at the Baylor Medical Center in Waco, reported WFFA-TV.

The children and grandparents were inside the home and were not hurt.

Police said Kristi Suckla remained friendly with her husband after they separated about two months ago.

The investigation is ongoing but police is calling the killings a murder-suicide.
