Newark, NJ, United States (4E) – Several tires of a United Express plane from western New York blew as it landed Sunday night at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, causing the plane to head off a runway.
According to Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Ron Marsico, Flight 4480 from Rochester carrying eight passengers and five crew members was landing when four rear tires blew.
Officials said the plane didn’t hit anything and nobody was injured.
Sources told Eyewitness News that the plane came very close to hitting the Federal Aviation Administration Navigation Building.
It was reported that the passengers on board were safely de-planed and taken to the terminal.
