Obama takes oath to begin second term as U.S. President

Washington, United States (4E) – U.S. President Barack Obama on Sunday officially took oath of office for the second term at a private low-key ceremony in the White House Blue Room.
The first family witnessed the swearing-in ceremony, which was required by the constitution, held in the presence of U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. The cable networks and a press poll also witnessed the ceremony.
According to Biden’s office, the vice-president has personally selected Sotomayor, who is the fourth female judge to oversee an oath of office for presidents and vice presidents.
The president and vice-president later took park in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery. The public inauguration ceremony of swearing-in will be held on Monday in presence of estimated 800,000 people.
