Montgomery County, TX, United States (4E) – A four 4-year-old boy died after being attacked by a pit bull over the weekend in Montgomery County, Texas.

According to officials, the accident happened Saturday afternoon along Pinehurst when Christian Gormanous was playing in his backyard with his nine-year-old sister, Trinity.

A family friend, Debra Dreyer, told KHOU that Christian climbed over a neighbor’s fence and a chained pit bull fatally attacked him.

Dreyer added that his sister Trinity came to his rescue as she managed to get the dog off him and bring him back over the fence before telling her mother about the incident.

Christian was flown by helicopter to a Houston hospital where he died Saturday evening.

The head of the property owners association, Karen Loube, claimed the neighborhood has an ongoing problem with pit bulls and added “we’re going to have to do something.”

It was reported that nobody was home at the dog owner’s house, but a notice from an animal control officer hung on the door.

Law enforcement authorities said no criminal charges are expected.
