Atlanta, GA, United States (4E Sports) – Tony Parker scored 23 points and dished out 12 dimes as the San Antonio Spurs slipped past the Atlanta Hawks, 98-93, Saturday at Philips Arena.
The Spurs extended their winning streak to four games and did so minus Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili as both rested because of nagging injuries.
Parker and company still stepped their game to another level to hammer out another victory on the road.
After building a 12-point advantage, the Spurs fended off a late rally from the Hawks, who were just four points down, 93-89, with 25 seconds remaining.
Yet the Spurs showed their composure and veteran savvy, hitting key free throws and making crucial stops on the other end.
Kawhi Leonard and Tiago Splitter scored 14 points each while Matt Bonner scored 17 markers off the bench for the Spurs, who improved to 32-11.
The Hawks, who dropped to 22-18, were led by Josh Smith (21 points) Kyle Korver (19 points) and Jeff Teague (16 points and 8 dimes).
