Three Men Charged for July Drug Incident

PHILIPSBURG – Three Philipsburg men were charged Monday for a drug incident that occurred on July 15, 2012 on North 10^th Street in Philipsburg Borough. The Philipsburg-based state police identified the men as Christopher Ray Johnson, 20; Nicholas Edward Reed, 21; and Ryan Anthony Smith, 21, all of Philipsburg.

According to the police report, the men were arrested during the course of a traffic stop. The men were in possession of various drugs, paraphernalia and brass knuckles at the time of the incident. Lab results have revealed that the substances found were Schedule 1 controlled substances.

Johnson was charged with prohibitive offensive weapons; Reed with possession of drug paraphernalia; and Smith with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Charges were filed through the district court.
